Founder and Administrator of Vita Christi Catholic College, Idimu, dedicated to evangelization, education, leadership and human development.

Early Life

Rev. Fr. Ignatius Okoligwe was born on 1st July 1978 at Umuomaku, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria, into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Bertrand Okoligwe. He is the fifth of nine children.

He began his primary education at Community School Umuomaku before completing it at Central School Akpo in 1992. He attended Akpo Community Secondary School for his junior secondary education and later St. Peter's Special Science School Achina, where he graduated with excellent WAEC results.

Inspired by a profound call to serve God, he entered the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians) in 1999, beginning a lifelong journey of priestly formation, academic excellence and missionary service.

Priestly Journey

Rev. Fr. Ignatius was ordained a Catholic Priest on 3rd July 2009 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Akowonjo, by Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Adewale Martins. Since his ordination, he has distinguished himself through pastoral leadership, educational development, evangelization and community transformation.

Pastoral Assignments

2009 – 2010
Assumption Parish, Ndon Ebom

Served as Associate Parish Priest while also functioning as Deanery CYON Chaplain, Chaplain of Assumption Girls' Juniorate and Spiritual Director of the Daughters of Charity Postulatum.

2010 – 2012
Holy Ghost Parish, Okenyi

Served as Parish Priest and transformed the parish spiritually and physically, leading to its elevation from a Quasi Parish to a full Parish.

2012 – 2015
Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Maryland Enugu

Introduced weekly Eucharistic Adoration, Monday Labour Prayer Programme, completed numerous infrastructural projects and strengthened parish life.

2015 – 2021
Christ the King Catholic Church, Akowonjo

Completed and dedicated the parish church, expanded educational facilities, renovated hospitals, established new Mass Centres and strengthened evangelization throughout the deanery.

2021 – Present
Vita Christi Catholic College, Idimu

Founded and currently leads Vita Christi Catholic College, mentoring young people through quality Catholic education while promoting excellence, discipline and faith formation.
